The
need to ensure safe working at height has been brought into sharp
focus by the new Working At Height Regulations 2005. High wind speeds
are a recognised risk factor when working at height on Ladders,
Towers and Hydraulic Work Platforms, so the ability
to quickly and accurately measure wind speeds can make a significant
contribution to your safety.
The Windtronic 2 has a unique rotary cup sensor head giving it
a major benefit in practical use - accurate
readings of wind speeds even in the eddying/gusty wind conditions
commonly experienced when working at height close to buildings.
In our experience, fan-type anemometers fail badly in these real-world
conditions because they need to be pointed directly at the wind
to give an accurate reading.
The Windtronic 2's ability to log wind conditions over time also
makes it ideal for measuring wind speeds above
roof edges or round corners before exposing yourself to potentially
dangerous conditions- simply hold it above your head (above a roof
edge) or at arms length (past the corner of a building) , then bring
it back in to read the average and peak results.
The large, clear LCD display shows four measurements
simultaneously - a Beaufort scale bar chart, together with
the current, average and maximum wind speeds in a choice of units:
- KM/H (Kilometers per hour), Range 2.5 - 150 KPH
- KTS (Knots), Range 1.3 - 81 KTS
- M/S (Metres per second), Range 0.7 - 42 M/S
- MPH (Miles per hour), Range 1.5 - 93 MPH
Just press on the left-hand "M" button until the desired
unit of measurement is displayed - Windtronic 2 even remembers your
last choice and automatically displays it the next time you switch
it on!
Ideal for users of Scaffolding, Towers, MEWPs, Ladders
or anyone who needs to quickly and accurately measure wind speeds
in the workplace
