IPAF has revised the categories in its training programme and is moving to align with the British and International standards BSEN 280 and ISO DIS 16368, standards that regulate the design and manufacture of access platforms worldwide.
Details of the categories can be viewed here on our news pages.
Kingfisher Access IPAF training courses will reflect these changes in categories at our training centres from January 2008.
IPAF Accredited Training
As an IPAF accredited Training Centre, the standards we set are accepted everywhere. When an operator has been trained through us, the Powered Access Licence he receives carries real weight. Our IPAF qualified instructors are people who know how to get the best out of each machine safely.
"Training will enhance motivation and performance of individuals and helps businesses to achieve their objectives"
Kingfisher Access' course content, instructors and training premises have been subjected to a rigorous assessment to ensure compliance with IPAF standards. Furthermore, we are subject to an ongoing audit regime conducted by IPAF Auditors to ensure that we continue to meet the high standards demanded by IPAF.
International Recognition
Recognition of the IPAF qualification provided by Kingfisher Access is second to none - our IPAF Training is certified by TUV as conforming with ISO 18878 : 2004
The PAL Card
The Ultimate Proof:
A Powered Access Licence Card issued by us carries all the key facts people need to know. It states who the person is and what equipment they are trained to operate.
Details listed on the card include:
When and where they were trained
When they should be retrained
Categories of equipment licence is valid for
Photograph and signature of holder to ensure validity
The PAL Log Book
It shows experience as well as competence:
The machine and model involved
The date and description of the actual work involved
Any reportable accidents or incidents
Who the work was carried out for and where it took place
How to get in touch with them if the need arises
A track record like this ensures that good operators are in demand more than ever - and that responsible companies find it easier to comply with legislation.
"A competent employee is able to work confidently knowing and understanding the work, the reasons it is being carried out, and how it can be done safely"
Our IPAF Operator and Harness courses now include a MEWP Operator's Safety Kit for each candidate, ensuring that they are properly equipped to complete their training, and have the correct PPE to keep them safe when they return to work with their new skills.
