PASMA Revise Operator's Code Of Practice

Photo: PASMA Operator's Code Of Practice, Rev 12PASMA, the Prefabricated Access Suppliers' and Manufacturers' Association have just launched the twelfth revision to their Operator's Code Of Practice.

The new code of practice includes significant revisions brought about by the Work at Height Regulations 2005, specifically the two new recommended and approved methods of building, altering, and dismantling towers, reported on this website some time ago (see our tech updates section).

Revisions incorporating the requirements of BS EN 1004 (replacing BS 1139 part 3), together with the new BS 1139 part 6 (Metal scaffolding. Specification for prefabricated tower scaffolds outside the scope of BS EN 1004, but utilizing components from such systems) have also been included.

"This latest revision of the Code Of Practice incorporates the fall protection principles of the Work at Height Regulations and the completely updated methods of assembly, dismantle and alteration recommended by PASMA, in co-operation with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). It serves to underline PASMA's and the HSE's assertion that no-one should ever have to stand on an unprotected platform"

The new Code of Practice has already been included as the standard hand-out with all PASMA courses run by Kingfisher Access. Click Here for details of our PASMA training (remember, we also offer this course as an Open Course at our Upminster Training Centre).
